Jennifer Cisney is a professional counselor, life coach, mediator, trainer and author.
Jennifer's coaching is done both individually and in groups (via internet and group calls). Her coaching specialties include divorce and single life coaching, grief coaching and health coaching for those with chronic pain/illness.
Jennifer speaks and trains for several national organizations including the American Association of Christian Counselors, The Salvation Army, International Critical Incident Stress Foundation and others.
Jennifer Cisney has served as faculty for many of AACC’s video-based training curriculum including “Life After Divorce”, “Christian Crisis Response Training”, “Caring for Teens”, “Care and Counseling for Traumatic Stress”, "Addictions and Recovery", "Small Group Leader Training" and several of AACC's Life Coach Training programs.
She is co-author of "The First 48 Hours: Spiritual Caregivers as First Responders".
Jennifer Cisney is a trained therapist, having received a Master's Degree in Community/Agency Counseling from Wake Forest, University. She worked with Rapha Christian Treatment Centers from 1994 to 1998. She served as Director of the Light Care Clinic at Calvary Church in Charlotte, NC from 1998-2000 and operated a counseling practice in the Charlotte, North Carolina area until August 2006.
Jennifer's Approach
Jennifer is genuine and compassionate, but truthful in her coaching approach. She believes in helping people face realities of their lives while making changes to meet their goals for change. Coaching with Jennifer involves:

- Setting focused and achievable goals for your life both short and long term
- Creating step-by-step plans to help you achieve your goals
- Maintaining a relationship of accountability and encouragement with your coach for as long as is needed to see your desired changes take effect in your life
Jennifer's Life Experience
Each of Jennifer's coaching specialties are born out of personal life experiences as well as many hours counseling and coaching individuals through specific challenges.
Divorce/Single Life Coaching
Jennifer went through a painful divorce in 1998. Her lack of knowledge of the legal system and ignorance of the divorce process led significant financial loss and emotional pain. Jennifer also struggled with rebuilding her life after divorce. "I wish I had someone to guide me through the process of rebuilding my life after divorce. In my emotional pain and feelings of low self worth that are so common following a broken marriage, I made some poor choices. I want to help my coaching clients avoid some of the pitfalls so common to those who are fresh from the pain of divorce."
Grief/Crisis Coaching
Jennifer has extensive professional experience with grief, crisis and trauma. She is Director of the National Crisis Response Team for the American Association of Christian Counselors and lead the team in New York after 9/11 and in the Gulf after Hurricane Katrina. She is a trainer for the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation and co-authored a book on crisis response titled "The First 48 Hours: Spiritual Caregivers as First Responders". While some people may need professional counseling for specific traumatic situations, grief is a normal part of life for all people. However, most people have now idea how to grieve effectively. Grief Coaching can give people a roadmap for grieving and help them stay healthy and productive while facing into life's losses.
